Amy Mullins

MA, LPC-MHSP, S, LCMHC

Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Services Provider designation (LPC-MHSP) in the state of Tennessee and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina. Amy is a native of the Greeneville, Tennessee area and graduated from Tusculum College with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. In 2008 Amy moved to Rochester, Michigan where she earned her Master's degree in Counseling from Oakland University. 

After graduation, Amy moved back to the Greenville area to continue working within the community she loved and knew best. Over the years, she has had extensive experience holding space for a wide variety of clients and diagnoses through community mental health agencies and recovery programs across East Tennessee. Amy’s experience with clients includes working with youth and adolescents, those involved in the juvenile and adult justice system, clients in recovery, and crisis triaging.

In addition to her work as an outpatient therapist, Amy has experience overseeing mental health clinics and supervising other therapists and staff as a licensed and board approved supervisor in the state of Tennessee. Through her work as supervisor, Amy has come to understand the unique nature of the healing professions and has grown passionate about helping those who help others. Amy loves guiding new clinicians as they hone their skills as well as creating a space for healers to process the difficult nature of their job.

In addition to Amy’s passion for working with other therapists and medical professionals, her work in community mental health has sparked a great compassion for those who are suffering from the effects of trauma and anxiety. Amy has come to recognize the mind-body connection and the impacts trauma can have on both mental and physical health and often integrates the polyvagal theory into her work with clients. Amy also has training in Yoga for Trauma Recovery and enjoys encouraging clients to build a stronger connection with their physical self. With her understanding of trauma’s impact on the body and the unique set of difficulties those who have chronic illness experience, Amy has grown passionate about working with clients who struggle with autoimmune illnesses, long COVID, and PCOS.

Along with Amy’s training in traditional talk therapy and trauma processing techniques, Amy is a Certified EMDR clinician and an EMDRIA approved EMDR consultant and offers EMDR sessions virtually to clients across Tennessee and North Carolina.

When not working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, listening to live music, and reading.
